Adrenaline is getting on my nerves

Ok I've read most of the post concerning the Adrenaline & can't find a solution to my issue. Right now I'm just running on the "factory" tune, without the pump tapped. I haven't tapped the wire since I got the new VP44. Also running a smarty on just fuel, boost, timing.

The problem I'm having is while towing my 11k pound camper, the Pulse will stop reading water temp at 203,then goes to zero. Then after stopping the high idle didn't work or the EGT cool down. After cutting the truck off & restarting all the gauges read 0!! Now the real funny part when I popped the hood to unhook plug the Adr. First the dang Adr was scalding hot, then I unplugged the Adr & Pulse connection, let it sit for maybe a min. When I plugged the Adr back in I could hear all the buzzers on the dash going off, like the key was on,but it wasn't. So I started the truck still all 0's on the gauge. Cut the key off & guess what the truck didn't shut off. Let it idle for 10 mins, still running. Finally truck turned off only after I unplugged the Adr.

Fast forward to this morn. Hooked the Adr back up guess what still all 0's. Is my Adr screwed?

Mine does crazy stuff too. A couple of weeks ago the turbo timer wouldnt shut the truck off, had to unplug the box to get it to turn off. Since then the turbo timer does not work at all and I have changed the program twice. Mine shuts off after the engine temp gets past 200 also. Guages go to 0 but then come back. Im not all that happy with it

Ask for a refund and buy something that's worth the money spent.

Ok, couple of possible things could happen.

First, make certain the ground wire is good. A bad ground can/could be heck on the Turbo Timer circuit.

Are you getting zero's on everything or does Boost, Pyro, Trans Temp or Fuel pressure work? This is important. If those things work and nothing else does then there could be a problem with the data bus. If those things don't work there is a problem with communication between either the Pulse or ControlPod.

Also if the Adrenaline is not getting data for things like rpm and tps position then the other functions are not going to work properly. Actually the box won't even turn itself on, so the things like the TT won't work properly. It could be turned on or off unintentionally because it is in the last working state. If the Adrenaline does not turn on because it does not detect some of this stuff it is a crap shoot.

Now there are things built in as fail safes on the board so that no matter what the truck will start and run fine as long as the box is plugged in. It doesn't matter if the board failed, the ground is bad or there is no power to it, the truck will still start and not throw codes or be in limp mode.

There is also a chance that something broke on the TT circuit. The power supply on these trucks are pretty nasty and they have some bad voltage spikes and it could have killed some of the logic on the board? I cannot tell you that from here though. Depending on what happened a part could have failed in an active or inactive state? hard to say as it does not happen often but, it is possible as that is the only part on the board that is subject to severe duty with massive current spikes.

The 203deg thing is not an Adrenaline issue, it is a data bus issue and that is as high as the data bus actually reads. We do believe we have a solution but, we won't know for sure until monday or tuesday because it is being tested right now.

So, there are a couple of things you can do.

First, you can troubleshoot and see what you come up with.

Second, is call support and get an RMA# and send the box in to be checked, fixed or replaced.

Third, tell tech support you want them to send a box to you, they will get a CC # from you and send a call tag with the new one. You send your old one back when you get the new one and there is no charge.

Depending on where you are and what your plans are depends on what works best for you.

I would sure like to meet you someday. If you are ever in TX look me up. My address is on our website.

Regardless of the situation you are one of the most negative people about our products that I have ever met, for no reason.

I hardly comment on your products anymore, it's like shooting fish in a barrel. In this particular case the guy happens to be from NC so I figured I would try to offer a neighbor the only advice that seems practical.

Sending boxes back and fourth for hardware updates or whatever other tweak of the week happens to be is frustrating to anyone who wants to enjoy their truck, let alone a product that they paid good money for.

You act as if I have some personal grudge against you or Quadzilla. I don't fault your product ideas but the execution of finished product to market is lacking. I think you could have taken more time to test the product rather than have your customers suffer needlessly.

Have a good one qzilla. I won't get into your comment about "like to me you someday" on a public forum.

Thanks for your response. Ground is good. Direct to battery.

The temp is the first thing that goes to zero, Then boost, pyro& trans.Don't have fuel pressure hooked up.

After leaving the Adr unplugged overnight things started working again. I will be leaving Pigeon Forge,TN in the morning heading to Richmond VA with the big ole travel trailer in tow. If things go a miss again I will be calling the tech line about sending this box back.

I do have one quick & simple question. With not tapping the wire how much power is the Adr giving me on "factory tuning"?
