Adjusted the governor lever tonight

Well I adjusted the governor lever tonight...I have a 0 plate about 1/8" from full forward. I read all the instructions about adjusting it and it seems like its still too far from the plate. Its at least an 1/4" from hitting the plate with the fuel cut off in the up position... Are there any problems I can run into running it like this? Any suggestions on what I can do besides moving the plate back? Thanks

Travis

You probably have it fine. You have to raise the fuel shutoff AND give the pump some throttle(either from the pedal inside or with your hand on the side of the pump with the linkage), then the arm should come forward and hit the plate.

No experience with a zero

but on mine with the 100, as long as the arm does not go under the plate, (IE it hits the tip of the plate, the nose, or a little bit above it) you are good to go, depending on plate position it will vary where your governer arm hits if you dont adjust it...

I havent adjusted mine, but doing the same method Eric did, i was able to see that even at full forward fuel plate, the arm doesnt ride under it, i backed off the plate just a smidgen, and tightned down and checked, rechecked and checked again to make sure the arm wasnt hitting, its kinda hard to pull up on the solenoid and move the linkage at the same time but hey, it can be done..

Hope that helps

Rick

I have a zero, ditto on what the others said, solenoid up, push on linkage, make sure nut is tight. Mines full forward, it will touch the plate when i adjusted my arm.

a 100 palte will make it hit easier on the plate! the bottom comes closer to the gov arm!

ive also had my truck a while, with the gov arm adj. screw removed! just take the washer out with ya they do no good in the pump

there is not much difference where it is, as long as its hitting the plate!! you might have to adjust it higher!

also remember, the screw is not very long! and it falls out if you turn it out to much.
Best thing is to get a 100 plate!

some trucks have the gov arm lower then others!
