add on clearance lamps
I've got a 98 clubcab lnog bed & want to add clearance lamps. I am lucky enough to have a harness or plug to hook to underneath the headliner, or do I need to do some plumbing?
Thanks
Jim

if you dont have factory cab lights you will have to make a wiring harness. its not that hard to do. and as far as aftermarket cab lights go recon is the best i found. pacer and eurolite where very nice looking until water around them one light had 1/4" inch of water in it in just a week, so definitely go recon or the factory style. the recon 3 gen smoked led is what i have and i like them even though they get a little moisture in them they do dry out. as far as drilling holes, this is what we did, dropped the headliner and there are hole in the roof bracing for the wiring harness, just find a socket that fits real snug and use it for a guide for your drill bit, then lay your lights out and measure, measure, measure...

Jim, I havent had a chance to install mine yet , but a lot of people recommend reading this information:
http://www.phildorsett.com/clearancelights.html
there are some things to watch for if you go with new style vs old and templates etc. General concensus is to drill through the factory holes as the templates can be un-reliable as Mattiebob says.
A quick search for"installing dodge clearance lights" yields tons of opinions. I bought a factory set with harness off Ebay for about 85 bucks and hope to install in next few weeks. Also this site as a number of great posts (as usual) that helped me . BG
