Accident and wrnty?

Well, made my last payment and then got into a front end accident [ My first in 45 yrs of driving ]. My question is, will this affect my extended wrnty for eng and driveline parts like ball joints, diff u joints, ect. in the future once they see that parts have been replaced [or not replaced because of maybe something not found by the body shop ] from an accident? My truck has 52,000 miles on it.

Only if the failed part is damage releated. If missed by the body shop the extended service contract or factory warranty is not nor should pay for it.Happens a lot. Then you have to contact your insurance company/shop that repaired the wreck damage again.

First, insist on factory parts for any repairs. Second, and most important, several insurance companies now offer what are often referred to as "blue ribbon" repair facility options. IF you elect to have your vehicle repaired there, the repairs are warranted for as long as you own your vehicle.

If this is an insurance claim, just let the dealer fix it. That way he can't do chit to your warranty, cause any problems caused by the accident should have been fixed by him.

i thought that ball joints and u-joints were considered a wear item and not covered under any warranty?

Depends on age of vehicle,production/inservice date and some other variables. But yes in some cases they are covered items.

Thanks for the info. I quess what I meant to say is if they put in a good used
factory part like front diff if old one is bent or used oem rad, inter cooler, ect
because from what AAA tells me is that when I started with them 14 yrs ago,I signed a paper to this effect,[ using used oem parts]. I bought the factory extended warrenty when I bought my truck. Added care plan with 7yr 100,000 mile is the plan I got.

Thats a rock and a hard place! Common sense tells me if its a USED part and it fails that eaither it slides by if lots of time has gone by or if Service Contract provider know's it was a used part and if installed not long before failure that it is on you and them which I could understand.

This is the front end damage. I don't why the air bags didn't go off, and I'm wondering if I try and start it, is there a chance that they will go off? I don't know how they work. Any one know of a good body shop in the L.A area?
