ABS/ E Brake Light Issue

This is kind of a stupid question but I want to ask just to see if anyone has any ideas. I am 1000 miles away from my truck and the is at a friends for storage while I am gone.

I got a call today saying that the ABS light and E-brake are on. The batteries died recently and they had to be replaced. I don't think that has anything to do with it but it could i suppose.

My main question is is there any flaws I should have someone look for or any "dodge" issues. Other than rusted break lines.

Any input is appreciated.

Sounds like it could be the ABS sensor on either the front tires (4WABS) or rear tires. Have they been driving it or did the light come on just sitting there after the battery died? Can you check the codes on the odometer?

In my experience, "most" of the time this error condition is set by a failed ABS sensor on the rear diff... a cheap and easy fix

would that also cause the rear to lock up when braking hard? mine seems to lock up when those two lights come on but in my truck they come on and stay on for a while then they turn off... I just got it a month ago and am still trying to figure it out...

sorry to yank a question from your thread!

you might want to check the wire's comming from the sensor's on the front wheel's.the wire's are held to the rubber brake line from the wheel to the frame.my wire's had worn through, where the rubber hose turn's to steel.i got some waterproof crimp connector's and spliced them

It was jump started, then driven maybe 20 minutes with the light on the parked where it is now. I know that when I left they were not on.

Thanks for the input.
