This 99 junk that I have been suffering with since new , no one really wants to work on it because I know more then they do! TAlked to Medicine hat AB cryslurr dollarships and other places not looking good to get it fixed. Talked to a guy the other day and he paid more for added warranty and they left his wife with the kids standing for hours and said that they couldn't find her at the place and the excuses go on from there. He said never again for do-g-.

If you are having trouble with your 98 to 01 lets start to share alot more info. APPS isn't working again and haven't been able to reboot it yet. It revs but not much power some at 1400 and powers out at 2100.

Go figger, I guess. I took delivery on August 15, 2001 and have had 1 problem that could have been warranty related - a back-up light switch that I changed myself (5 minute job). It's never been back to the dealer.

3 lift pumps (4th holding firm after additional pusher pump added), 2 intermediate steering shafts (3rd time replaced with a Borgson shaft, no problems after), 2 u-joints on the front axle (a cast-iron b. to get off without wrecking the hubs).

Overall, average problems for this type of vehicle - with the exception of the ridiculous fuel delivery system.

Ive changed one lift pump (under warranty) on my 01. No other troubles whatsoever. Havent even changed the batteries.

Ted, if you dont like your truck please sell it....seems like all you do is complain about it.

I'v had alot of problems with my truck but each time I fix it, I use high performance aftermarket and not chrysler junk. Other than a high pressure fuel pump that the vendor replaced for free I haven't had to refix anything yet. About the only thing Dodge left on this truck is the frame and body, it's a better truck now than it was when I drove it off the dealer lot.

Any DTC's to go along with the running problems? I don't understand how we should be sharing more of our problems?!?!? Have you read much of the 24v forum at all?!?! By far, most of the threads are related to running problems, DTC's, VP44's, fuel systems...etc.....sometimes I can't even read the 24v forum - too many problems. IMO, 6 years of owning a truck that you are clearly not happy with is far too long......it's time to sell it and find something you will be happier with.

Mines been doing pretty good. (nock on wood, now)

149K, one map sensor, one crankshaft position sensor, one lift pump, one set of new batteries, two times around with the front brakes, drivers door rust is real bad at the bottom, passenger door is headed that way. 3rd gear is still
messin up at times. (never while towing?)

Forgot to add the ABS Light and Brake Light are on. Similar to the post below.

Original VP44 and Clutch. Stock engine with K&N.

I wonder why even go to the dealer if you already know more than anyone else about these? Don't make sense to me.

66k One vp44 and lift pump. Mileage down from what I expect - probably right foot related - I just can't get enough of all that torque. Bottom line is that I absolutely love it and look for an excuse to drive it. Will pick up extra vp 44 and keep some tools in the back for when I'm waaayyy out in the boonies in case something happens and keep on drivin and grinnin until I can't buy or steal diesel anymore.

I'm the second owner, it has 210k, 2nd lift pump, replaced starter contacts & plunger, original VP, original auto trans shifts OK but could be better, new u joints. No problems other than I keep having to add fuel to it every week.
