98 12v issues help

My 98 in my sig, this morning the instrument cluster does not work (no tack no mph nothing) also first gear and OD don’t work I have checked all of the fuses and everything appears good I even replaced the dash instrument fuses Help please.

Any CELs? Because the tranny is involved, I'd be suspicious of the PCM but look for loose or damaged wires first. Even a single wire not making good contact can cause multiple problems.

E-mail me and I'll send you the proceedure for instrument cluster diagnosis.

Crank position sensor?
Check it, make sure its gapped .050" and make sure none of the wires are corroded or worn through.
You will have to take it off the truck to look at it properly. Its only 2 bolts and a plug.

Thanks guys I talked to Jeff Garmon and he is going to send me a PCM to try for free he said he was going to try and over night it to me I will keep you posted

I had the same thing happen to my 98 it was the crank position sensor.

It affects most of the cluster. Is you fuel gage messed up also. although i see you have a 24v and mine is a 12v. but the problems you are having were the same as mine.

are you sure yours is a 24V because your signature says you have a fule plate? Tate

Better look at the sig again it says 12v not 24v on the lower truck. Maybe he's changed it since your post but i'm just stating the obvious.

yes the fuel gauge is broken and my 98 is a 12v none of the gauges work at all
