97 12 Valve Cheap hp
Is there any cheap tricks i can do to my 12 valve. Ive already moved my torque plate up and turned the spider gear on top of the AFC housing towards the front, also took the silencer off. Just wanted to see if there was anything else i could do, besides a new tourque plate and injectors.

you can take your stock plate out and grind it down to a 100 profile, just do a search for 100 plate grind or something like that and you will find a pic of what it should look like after you grind it. also, you can cut off the vacuum line that goes to the wastegate for more psi, but get some gauges so you don't overspeed your turbo or let the EGTs get too high.

the thread is called
plate grinding instructions, by gunracer1, it is a good thread, good instructions as to how to grind the stock plate or any plate for that matter into whatever ud like it to be. If you want a quality 100 plate, pm northslope, he grinds them and makes really good plates, i myself have one of his plates..

And from my experiences, do a very thorough check of your fuel lines and fuel system. On my 97, the 2 vinyl lines that go from the tank nipples to the hard line on the frame were almost crimped shut from the factory. My fuel heater was also bad (leaking air AND dead).
get a fuel pressure gage to check these things.
I fixed most of my fuel delivery issues, and now, I have clutch issues.
Also check your turbo wastegate actuator. The PO put a new one in, and it was adjusted wrong. I could actually move the wastegate lever with my fingers. Once I adjusted it (using shop air) to start opening at 25 psi, my boost gets up to 36-38 psi if I stay in it.
