96 alarm system?

96 alarm system?
does anyone know about the alarm system/keyless entry system on my year?
When I was working under the dash the other day, I saw 2 small red and black wires that were cut and they went to the little red light on the dash on the left side of the steering wheel. The previous owner said he had the alarm or something disconnected. I guess the main thing is I want the keyless remote entry to work again. I thought maybe those wires had something to do with it.
Anyone help me out here?
