Anything pre 98.5 is a 12V and I would guess to me around 5000 at the most.

I did KBB and pvt. party sale is $6200 but I don't know for sure what all he has on it. He is asking $7k and I have a sandrail that I have listed for $7500 obo and he wants to trade. I would probably do the deal and sell the truck but I want to make sure I can get my money back. Is 230,000 miles alot with the built tranny and all?

I sold my 94 with 215k on it for 5500 this summer. It had a plow and need some body work (No rust)) cracked dually fender. And a list of problems with it. The most major one was it needed to be timed. So figure around 5k depending on how much work is needed. Also Ebay is the place to sell it.

I have not seen the truck yet but he says it has the normal Dodge problems, ***** for radio and a/c broke and he said there is an oil leak when you pop the hood the motor is dripping but it doesn't use oil just the normal quart every 2-4 weeks?????

Says he looked for the oil leak and couldn't tell where it was coming from that the motor fan was blowing the oil. So I wonder if the oil usage is leak or bad motor?

I have 293,000 miles on my "95" and it uses 1/2 quart every oil change, 3000 miles. Check that gear cover and make sure the KDP didnt crack it

The oil leak could be a cracked timing case from a dowel pin or internal timing case bolt that has fallen out. Read = expensive fix

Or it could be the crankshaft seal in the timing case cover. Not an expensive fix, especially if you do it yourself.

I'd find the source of that leak before purchasing the truck.

I had a 95 3 years ago and at the time when i was going to sell it it had 175k on it and the blue book price was 8k. So i would say now a good price would be about 6k. Thats just my opinion.

At max I would probably pay 6,000 for it without even seeing it. Depending on how bad that leak is I might even consider less. Is that private party sale value for Excellent, Good, or Fair? Any vehicle over 10 years old is probably between good and fair grade. You say you will re sell it to get your money out of it. Ok how long has he been trying to sell this truck? If he has been trying to sell it for a month or 2 then its likely gonna be hard for you to sell as well.

Actually he just started to sell it when he saw my ad to trade a sandrail for a truck. He is not a Dodge fan, and said his new Duramax is awsome and even parked the Dodge and bought a S10 to drive to work. I think I found someone local that I can trust to check it out.
