Looking at gettin a dodge again,, had a 96 and had good luck except for the automatic trans, getting rid of a ford , anyways,, wanting a manual,, 5 or 6 ?? and what years are the best motors,, what was the cutoffs for build dates,,, hear the 04.5 get worse milage than the 04 or 03,, any help wold be appreciated,, will be mostly towing a living quarter horse trailer, and will be wnating to mods as i go along with good milage ,, thanks in advance,

 

If you are looking at getting a 93, 94, or 94.5, you might want to ask in the first gen forum for the 93 (good reliable motors with almost nothign electronic but only OK tranny) or the 2nd gen forum for the 94 trucks.

Its better to be first than 2nd. I don't think there is a 94.5 model year. 91.5 and 98.5 are valid half years. 93 would be a 1st gen with the VE pump, 94 would be the first year of the 2nd gen with the P-pump. Manual trans would be a 5 speed, 93 would have Getrag 360, 94 and up would have a NV4500 which would need the 5th gear fix.

 

Are you asking about 93/94 trucks, or 03, 04, 04.5 trucks?
