The main seal is straight forward swap out. Get one at your local parts store and follow the directions to the letter. I used a Felpro and it worked great.

Pull trans

pull clutch, flywheel and flywheel housing

you will see a plate that is bolted to the back of the block that holds the rear main

then remove the 4 bolts from the oil pan and 6 from the block that hold that plate on

Place plate on the table and knock the seal out.

Reinstall new seal and use the seal installer/depth tool that comes with the new seal from Cummins (not sure about the felpro)

clean all surfaces thoroughly and apply a thin coat of gray TRV to the mating surfaces and a small blob at the corner of the oil pan and block.

use the seal installation sleeve to install the seal over the rear of the crank

install and tighten all the bolts that were removed earlier ( pull block bolts up just till they contact the plate then tighten the ones in the oil pan then the ones on the block)

Reinstall flywheel housing, flywheel, clutch, and trans

Done 6 like this and no leaks so far.
