I got a 1990 D350 DRW 5spd and the guy I got it from replaced the speedo with one out of a auto truck. He also replaced the VSS. What its doing now is running about double what my actual speed is. Same with the odometer.
I'm not sure what year the speedo is. Would it matter if it came out of a gas burner?
Any ideas?
Thanks

Speedo is the same, auto or manual, gas or diesel. When the VSS was replaced be sure the gear ratio/speedometer speed reducer was left on the trans. It is a 90 degree adapter that threads directly to the trans output then the VSS threads to the adapter. It is a .67 to 1 reducer IIRC.

Looks like I need one of those reducers. I just went out and looked and its not there.
Can I get one used?

I've been told yo u can get them from dodge. I took my truck to a speedo shop to get a new one, cause I put a little bit bigger tires on and I wanted it to be right on. Otherwise I think it's a junk yard part that you probably don't want.

I went to dodge and they told me they quit producing the reducer. The only people that have them is the dealers on stock if they have any left. If not just find a place on the net to buy one.
