Found these from Summit Racing today. I haven't seen anybody talk about them, maybe a new product. As I have been searching for them for a while, thought I was going to have to by that kit from Scotty, to get them. Any way when my new vp-44 goes in it will have plenty of fuel for cooling, I ordered 5, 6 hoseends, 20' feet of -08an hose. now to build a fuel pickup with 1/2'' pick-up and return line that is as far awy from pick-up tube as possible, and this should be my last new VP. btw, part #EAR-9919 EFGERL.

Hard to put into words an aluminium plate to fit where factory one is, with a 1/2 al pickup tube, a 3/8 return line that will open at front of the tank, a large tube around both lines to mount a sender on, the tip over-valve, and a vent. Alot like the factoy one without a bowl, and the return line won't be near the pickup.

Be careful on the torque specs and since its aluminum, the inner diameter will be smaller then a steel part. Also, do not use the rubber only washers that are used with banjo bolts for sealing.

I just used Scotty's fittings. Top-of-the-line Aeroquip steel -8s.

I also bought his Teflon hose kit, and in retrospect, the socketless style would have been MUCH easier to install, cheaper, and have no issues with underhood chafing.

His new setup with the socketless push-lok hose is AWESOME-- a great deal.

You can't possibly move enough fuel through a VP to where a -8 line is even remotely retrictive. It's way overkill---- PERFECT!

Last week I picked up the -6AN / 12x1.5mm Weber adapters from summit and sent them back because the neck walls on the 12x1.5mm side were only .040 thick! if it was steel, may be, Aluminum= no way! So I picked up the Earls STEEL -6AN by1/4 NPT. Lathe turned the 1/4 npt to .465 OD and ran a 3 dollar 12x1.5 die over the the new shank, then mod the same die with a relief grind on the back side thread and filped it over and bottom the threads up to the nut wall. Now thats one heavy duty bullet proof fitting! And I use the Cummins banjo bolt washer to boot. I just put them on today and found that the first 3 banjo fittings (lift pump/feed side of filter) all have banjo eye ports of .172 thousandths. Thats LESS THAN 3/16ths !! At least the banjo eyes on the filter outlet and IP are .270, just over 1/4". If you use the factory banjos Its a wast of time to put on biger fuel line period. Alltho you might be able to drill out the tiny flow port in each of the 3 banjo eyes. I have a picture of the finished -6AN's in my gallery. I cut four -6AN / 12x1.5's and one I cut to a 12x1.5 / 3/8ths male barb (from the -6AN) for the pick up off the end of the factory SS feed line. In addition to this, the lift pump now sits on the side of the frame just foward of where the SS line ends. Summit sweep fittings and SS braided line. So far so good. Honestly guys, think those skiny aluminum AN's over. Its not that much work for a shop to make you up a set like I made up out of steel.

Walt L, thanks for the warning on the aluminiun when they arrive I'll look them over good,and make decion from there, I could not find any steel one in an -8 size, BTW there wont be one banjo left on the supply lines when done. Scotty thanks too, I was planning on using the washers from cummins, I looked at your kit looks good but, didn't apear to be exactly what I wanted.
I tore into the tank yesterday and decided I would have 2 plugs turned that will take place of old pick-up, return line, and the aux pick-up, one for supply and one for my return. this way dont have to build somethig to mount sender on, I'll post some pictures when I'm done

I use Russell Weber 12mm x 1.5M to -6 AN adapter. They cost 3 bucks and should deliver more than enough unless you are building up a race truck.

Here's the adapter with a 90 degree bend to a fuel pressure take off then goes to 3/8" barb fitting where it goes back to the pump, filter, etc.

Here's the Max-flow (AKA Scotty Fuel) adapter at the VP.

It's tapped for a Fuel pressure take off. I like it a lot. Good fit, no leaks, strong fittings that won't collapse.

The aluminum Aeroquip adapters may look thin and weak, but I have never broken one after installing dozens of them. I have a tendency to overtighten fasteners, too. In fact, the only hose fitting I have ever broken was -4 stuff, and it was a POS Russell 90 degree hose end.

Is there a reason to try to keep the Schrader port? I got a FP gage that uses that port. Gonna run that to see how my fuel system's health is and then decide after the trip to FL and back. If the fuel system is kinda weak, I'll do all the lines first then the LP. Since the LP is gonna pretty much be a gauranteed part to be replaced eventually
