Re:'84 mazda diesel

Wouldn't go turbo with that because any mentionable boost would need different (low compression) pistons and a charge air cooler.
I'd go for turning up the pump and giving it some timing and some good air intake.

Just my 2c

AlpineRAM

Re:'84 mazda diesel

so... attaching a leaf blower on the intake may blow the engine??
I forgot where I saw that... I think it was on a ford site (gasser) :
If I get really serious about this, pdr might not be a bad idea as they are just down the road...

Re:'84 mazda diesel

I have no idea what kind of milage the mazda gets. My father in law has it now. the truck has 200,000 km (124,000 mi) and he just spent $500 getting the injectors "cleaned" plus another $250 some dollars getting all the other filters changed (my jaw dropped when he told me...) all because the truck was failing aircare (emmisions testing) It was failing aircare because fourth gear is gone in the tranny and they couldn't run it up properly... Of course they didn't tell him this before he spent the money on the "tune up" (partly his fault, partly theirs)
He finally found a tester that would pass it (until next year) and he will drive it without fourth
He is thinking of junking the truck in the next couple of years and I am dreaming of transplanting that engine into a suzuki samuri
I think the word here is dreaming though...
