I am trying to find two 8 lug wheels for my 2001 2wd 2500. I want to put a couple of snow tires on them for winter. What all wheels will fit? I talked to the local junk man and he says that the 8 lug pattern changed to a metric pattern after 1999 and the old 8 on 6.5 wheels won't fit. Is this true? Will the older wheels fit. Do the Ferd or Chebby wheels fit? Does anybody have a couple of old steel wheels they want to sell cheap?
Thanks
Mark

I have a friend who put a set of 2001 dodge rims on his 95 dodge and they fit. I know that ford changed thier pattern with the new body style in 99 becuase when the new trucks came out in 99 everyone wanted the rims for the thier older trucks. Chevrolet I don't know. i do know from experience that an older chevy rim will not fit on the dodge because the hub size is larger on the doge trucks, as with fords you can use a ford rim on a chevy but not a chevy rim on a ford. I have been able to use older ford rims on doge trucks. When you live and work in the ranching industry you are somtimes forced to get by with what you have. Best way to find out for sure would be to ask a tire shop. I only pay about 30.00 per rim for steel 8 on 6.5 for trailer spares and such.
Ty
