8.3L Dodge
Has anyone heard rumors of this conversion, or have seen it first hand? I have wondered many times can it be done. If it was me I would make the ultimate sleeper out of a '94-'98 white extended cab dually and give no hints of it beeing there.
What do you think

4x4

never seen it done in a dodge, but it has been done in a ford. it has a custom interior like a race car (very ugly). check the ford diesel site. i don't think that it'd be worth it in my opinion. the front end would have to be beefed up.

Tom

I think putting the 8.3 in a pickup is past the point of diminishing returns as far as speed goes. That 8.3 is a heavy mother with heavy internals, you'll need to make a lot more power to go quicker than a well bombed 5.9 will. If you wanna go pulling with it, that might be different. I could see an 8.3 powered truck being an advantage if you could find a place that would let you run it. There's no way the driveline could hold a well bombed 8.3 on a good track with a heavy sled - you'd be twistin' off parts every run.

Don't remember which site, maybe TDR, someone put the 8.3 along with the 9 speed Tranny in a Ford F250, 4x4. Picture
was included in the article.

Dave

Re:8.3L Dodge
If I was going to put an 8.3 in anything it would be a Ford F550, something that could handle the weight. I would rather have a 5.9 in one of those though, easier install and plenty of umph on the hills, might need an extra overdrive though.
