727 Trans. Temp gauge
Which fluid/test port do i put the sender for the Trans temp gauge? There is no sensor in the hot line like there is on a 91.5-93 A518...
Truck is a 90 D250 with a 727.....The pan has a sender already in it from a previous gauge but I really wanna put it where the fluids the hottest.....
Looks like there is 2 ports on the driver side of the trans, they have plugs in them.

Those are pressure testing ports. Do not use them. Sticking a probe in there may cause problems in the trans. Yeah guys have done it, but the long term problems came later.
Better off putting a Tee in the trans line if you must do this. Frankly it's a waste of time.

I would like to know ahead of time so I could take action before my transmission goes into meltdown.

Ok I will not use those ports, if worst comes to worst I will put it in the pan.
Either way It's getting it. I hate having a gauge that's not hooked up, and it's not my truck I am doing it for someone else.
And how is it a waste to know Trans temp. in a high performance truck that tows? This ain't no 400lb ft cummins no more...
