700-r4
I saw an adapter plate made to attach a 700-r4 tranny to the ctd on Transmission Performance website. Why would you do this? I know the 700 is a graet tranny, but that good?

not a good idea. if i used a gm trans it would be a 4l80e from performance auto and transmission center. i had one behind a big block chev and it was a million times better than this pos 47rh, but it didn't have the power of the cummins.
and this march i should have a 4500

That adapter is geared more towards the 4B guys that are doing swaps and want to use the 700R4, a friend of mine is talking about using one with a 4B. I keep telling him he should have bought a 4BT right from the beginning.

p.a.t. trans are built for you ahead of time i'm not saying to use a junkyard trans. we put a 4bt and r4 in a jeep for a guy with his tq and stuff, needless to say he was back in no time with it on a trailer.

I ran a 4L60e [ basically 700R4] in my Camaro, blew it up a few times. Now I run a 4L80e in the Camaro, much better.
Makes me wonder if I should throw a 4L80e in there someday...hmm...we'll see how these DTT parts hold up.
