6.7 auto question on take off
hey guys i have a question bothering me for a while but i have a 6.7 2wd anti spin and when i take off from a stop.. flooring it ...it feels like the 1st gear slips..idk if it is an actual slip or how the truck drives..could it be the boost winding up ...but itll lag then rpms go up (truck doesent really move for a second)...then the truck chirps the tires and takes off then when it goes to 2nd it REALLY chirps the tires hard and feels like a rough shift and seems i get more power outta 2nd than i get out of first i think....i hope any of yall know wut im talking about and is this normal way it drives or could i have something wrong?? thanks for any help

Is this your first experience w/a turbo diesel? If so, it is probably just turbo lag. It takes a while for it to spool up, what you think is slipping, but when it kicks into 2nd, the turbo is spooled up already so it hits harder in 2nd, what you think is a hard shift.

1st gear is pretty short. The 6.7 also has alot of lag for emissions reasons in the lower RPM band off the line. Also 1st gear doesn't lock the TC, so you have a little soft start.. Do you get the same result in Tow/Haul?
