Re:6.0 Woes
Like I said on another thread. They should stop production of the 6.0L and go back to the 7.3L and just have a very very few number of 6.0L out as test trucks for about a year. Then When they get the bugs ALL out then they should bring it back out.
Just my $0.02.

Re:6.0 Woes
I was able to drive my Brother-in-law's 6.0L two weekends ago. It is a nice truck with A LOT of power.
If Ford can get the bugs worked out, Ford may have a winning combination there.
But, for now, I'll keep motoring down the road with my Cummins.

I say they scrap the powerstroke period and put a Cummins in it.

why so in 5 years you will be driveing around in a truck with a frame seat and pedals :
I would never put a cummins down by placeing it in Ford. :P

As much as I like my new Dodge, I still maintain that Ford makes a better truck. The Cummins is undoubtedly the better engine, but I like Ford trucks better. I think they're built tougher....and they actually have lights in the places you'd want lights to be....and they put insulation in their doors so it doesn't sound like clanking metal when a rock hops up and hits the bottom of the door....and the put a wheel well liner in....and so on. All those little things add up. Like I said, I like my Dodge, but if Ford used Cummins engines I'd be driving a Ford right now.

Re:6.0 Woes
How does the 6.0 compare to the International DT-466 that is (was??) used their mid-range trucks.. The 8 cyl used by ford was the other engine you could get in the IHC mid-range trucks I think...
Why couldnt ford use the DT instead of the 6.0.. The DT is a 6 cylinder and come in the same HP range that the other mgf have in their pickups..
We ran the DT's in most of our 4700 and 4900 IHC trucks at a rental company and never had problems with the engine.. there were 1990 thru 1998/99 year models, before International introduced their new cab style.

I'm with you "Big Blue" put a cummins in it. I'll dump this quad cab in a heart beat and get a real 4 door crew cab, with a real engine.

Re:6.0 Woes
I would have to agree. Im not a Ford fan by any means but, I do like the look of the Superduties and would be real happy to have the full size crew cab.
Put a 12 V in a crew cab and I wouldnt think twice about buying it.

Didnt we do a poll whil back. "who makes the better truck engine aside?" With almost everyone talkin on here it sounds like Ford should have won that.

Re:6.0 Woes
I think most just want the crew cab. Rather than putting a Cummins in a Ferd, why not hope to get DC to build a larger crew cab in the same size as the SDs? That's what I want. Ihave no problem with the quality of my 2003 3500. (Except of course we all know that the paint sucks on any new vehicle.)

Re:6.0 Woes
DC really dropped the ball when the designed the new, smaller crew cab - if they made a big one like in the superduty - they would have picked up a lot of dissatisfied Ford owners and made a great deal of us current Dodge owners happier.

The DT466 is WAY too big to cram in a pickup. It weighs about 1500 pounds and is about 6 inches longer and taller than a Cummins 5.9 (which is a tight squeeze to begin with). It's a good motor, though. The company I drive for has 3, one with 280k or so on it. Hate that old Irrational Harvester cab design, though.

I didn't know it was a smaller crew cab. I thought it was a larger quad cab!!!
I would've bought a Superduty Crew if they had a Cummins 12V in it. Properly valved AND properly sized!
