5spd to 6spd swap
Howdy,
I droped my driveshaft a while back on the interstate which tore up my transfer case. I am about to go to some salvage yards for a transfercase and I started thinking, what if I luck out and find a cool 6spd along with a transfer case.
That being said is there anything weird I should know about with tranny differences? I'm a wrench but new to Dodge. Clutch and Flywheel differences?
Already welded up my home made frame spreader
2000 Dodge 3500 *** mins 5spd Dually 4x4

This won't be much help, but I know it has been done. Chris (signature600) has a 6 speed behind his 12v... I'm thinking he has said it was a pretty simple swap.

you need the clutch and flywheel, the tranny support is moved further down, driveshaft work to shorten it i believe. if you are lucky and can find a 6spd cheap you better buy a lotery ticket cuz you are very lucky. ive looked and the cheapest i have ever found was about 3 grand
