Looking at your sig, you added 4wd transfer case to 2wd duelly? New Dodge trucks with 6sp, speedo runs off toner ring in rearend. With transfer case hookup, is speedo accurate? My truck spends 95% of its life under 46ft trailer, and must have speedo, because of amount and variety I travel.

From 98 and down (I think) the 4x4's used a pickup gear in the t-case...just like the 2wd's used in the extension housing!! So yes, it's as accurate as it was before!!

I got my Tranny from Blumenthal MFG...1-3/8" input shaft, NV5600.
I got the NV241DLD t-case from Transfer Case Express. I was going to go with a NV241DHD (a little heavier, and has PTO Provision) but he didn't have the parts to build on with the speedo gear for a NV5600, and I needed the truck, so...

HTH, any more questions?

What are drive shaft issues, etc?

Shorten the rear about 18" I think, and you'll need a new slip yoke for the output of the t-case!!

It is an expensive item just to keep the speedo, but the six speed is worth it!! I also think I'll use the low range of the t-case pulling trailers around farmers barnlots, and pulling some of the heavy implements we do as well. Don't know yet, haven't got the t-case shifter installed yet, but I'm working on it

Got one of those too, but the old men who occasionally drive my truck have NO idea what that is!!

There are probably other ways you could do it, but I think there are advantage to the t-case...especially if you tow a lot. Jockeying trailers around in tight spaces would be easier with a slower gear, and climing hills into barnlots with heavy loads will be easier too!
