55 block...

I found out today while doing a PM on the truck that I have a "55" engine block. Is this block any good? I read someplace that some blocks where thicker casting and held up better. Can anyone give me any info on the 55 block??? Thanks!

Its a keeper. The 53's are the only ones you need to worry about, if you're the worrying type.

Naw even if I had the 53 block it wouldnt bother me. I take care of everything and I just run em to they blow. I'v met my match though with this cummins. It might take time before i can put my head in the side of the block.

Yep, nothing to worry about with the 55 block. In fact, I have one myself.
