5" exhaust
sorry I brought this up again but I asked the question yesterday and now I can't find the thread I was on when I asked.
What do you guys think about a 5" exhaust ,straight pipe of course on, the 3rd gens. I know it could hurt performance some but I can't see it being enough to bother me. A friend of mine in College Station said he saw one with a 5 inch but didn't have a chance to talk to the guy. He looked at it in a parking lot and it was 5 to the down pipe at least. He swears it was the best sounding third gen he'd ever seen and has been pushing me to get mine straightend. Just wondering what your thought were and what performance would be lost.
Its gonna be loud if I get it done!!

I believe you only need the 5" if you're putting out a lot of power. I don't think it will hurt it if you're not, but it's not really needed. I thought about it for mine, but decided that for price and what I'm doing with it now... it wasn't gonna be worth it.
But if I had a TST stacked with an Edge or a BD box... yea I'd do it.

LOUD 5 Incher
slimpicken,
If you want the potential for max HP mods and you like it loud then a 5 incher it is!!! We have them with and without a muffler to save some cost and to make it as loud as possible. Check out our site for the ones with a muffler and call us if you are interested in the no muffler system.

the 5 inch is nice
I bought one of the first available kits for the third gen trucks
the piping was excellent
however the hanger system sucked to say the least
none of the hangers lined up with anything the way it was supposed to
if I were not a fabricator I would have had a LOT of trouble installing this kit
hopefully they have improved the hangers since then
performance wise
there was no loss in power like some say
there also was no difference in egts vs the stock 3.5" system and stock fueling
I think if you were running twins with LOTS of flow
there may be a difference in egts

I actually lost some egt's with mine, and on my 02 I picked up 8psi boost and dramatically lost egt's. Every CTD I will ever own will get the 5" treatment
