48re Transmission

I have bullydog triple dog for my 2007 Dodge Ram 3500. How much horsepower can the 48re transmission take and still maintain good reliability?

depending on tire size, up to 100 hp over stock, as long as you are not a light to light racer everyday........ but why wait till it gives up, or drive it like a baby, much more fun enjoying it with a some well spent money in the trans.

Test er out and report back!! hahaha

There's no set breaking point. Some have reported no problems using the 100hp setting on their tuners, and others have said that their tranny's started to slip using the 40hp setting first time out....
It all depends on your set up, driving habits, and luck of the draw...

I would love to get a tuner, but with my luck ( see also driving habits) i would be one of the ones that grenades the tranny first time out....
So i'm holding out until i'm able to upgrade my tranny first...

120-150 hp and they do fine, as long as it makes it at 3000 rpm. Add a 100 ft\lbs of TQ and you will toast the direct clutches and the TC in a hurry. All depends on how hard it hits on the bottom end and how you drive it.
