48re shifting question
My 06 starting from a dead stop light pedal no load the 1st/2nd shift seems to have a lag/pause between gears, is this normal ? 39 k stock everything, I recently bought the truck and it just seems strange that the shift isn't more crisp, under full power it dosn't seem to be an issue, all service is current.

48re shift delay
I'm guessing that your still under warranty.
Take it to the dealer have them do a diagnostics check.
I had the same problem w/my '03 48re at approx. 60k, it turned out they had to replace the valve body. They also did a trans. service since it was that far apart.
Since then no problems.
Good luck.

its your typical 48re problem. i wouldnt say its a problem, more so a characteristic of the tranny. if you are under warranty have it checked out, like mentioned above.

The shift programs are retarted on the 48re. My favorite is the 3/4 T/C all at once lock up at 50 mph.

Control load servo responsible for mussshy shift. Restrict travel of shaft inside of servo by stacking washers inside smaller piston. Adjust bans also.

Shift Enhancer only works for the 2-3 shift... And if Dave could't fix my retarted 3/4 T/C lock up I dont think anything will. Dave assured me that DC is working on TSB for this

Just exactly what "retarted 3/4 T/C lock" is I haven't a clue. All I know is that is the best part of the shifts on mine. The more time it spends in lockup the happier both of us are.
Huh??????

Shift enhancers are specifically for 1-2 shuttle and low throttle shift hangs. Thats what they do, advance the TV presures to raise the line and shift pressurres. They do nothing for a 2-3 shuttle or flare, that is an adjustment or shift timing issue.

I believe I'll take Dave's word that the Shift Enhancer helps cure the 2-3 shift on my truck. Funny because as soon as it was installed it quit. Ask around on the 3/4 t/c lock up on these trucks with tripple disk T/C's and they will agree that this is a violent shift for the turbo and the drivetrain. I believe Madhat started a thread on this about a week ago in regards to the lock up barking his turbo.
