48RE question

When you add more power to your truck how much can the tranney handle without blowing up, my hp goals are about 500hp and I know that I need to do the torque converter and valve body first but is this all?? Thanks for any input. Mike

Re:48RE question

Yeah, same here. I want to put bigger exhaust, bigger injecters in but first want to make sure the 48RE can handle the delivery of it all. I also want to have an exhaust brake installed in the 2003, 48RE but before I do I need to upgrade. According to Jacobs, they're not approving their exhaust brake for the 2003 48RE but are continuing to work on them for the 2004 models.

Re:48RE question

I was told by Diesel Dynamics that the 48RE in stock form is good for up to 400 hp. More than that and you should probably talk to DTT or Suncoast.
