I met Vannest this week(our local Cummins guru) He decides to take me a ride in the shop truck.On pavement,locked in 4wd,launches @near 2500 rpm on pavement!!!!I tucked my feet under the front seats in case of debris thru the floor type stuff(used to stuff flying apart with the high rpm gas engines )I have a 72 Duster with a stroked B block(to 451 cubes,3 3/4 stroke,4 3/8 bore) 4:56's and 4000 stall and drag radials)and would hate to bet the farm in the first 300 feet against that truck!Had to tell someone.What a rush!

back in the day when my truck had ~530 horse i would do 3rd gear 4x4 launches on pavement all the time. i would run the rpm's up to 3300~3400 and slip the clutch then dump it. its awesome how fast these things can get moving...

My truck goes ok with a 10lb launch, but I have done a lot of 15-20psi launches in Teddy Bear's truck, and dang. It will flat put your stomach in your throat! Feels just like you are on a roller coaster.

Yeah they are very fun, but ya kinda wait for a pretzeled drive shaft or something to just twist apart . But I have to say, these trucks are tough!!! none of that for me yet.

I have no idea what boost I launch at...but the tach is real close to 2500 when I let her loose. If I push it any harder it breaks all four loose at the 1-2 shift!
