4 wheel drive question
I've looked at a few 09's (2500 diesels) and I see that some have a manual stick on the floor for the engageing of 4wd and other have just the turn of the switch on the dash. Pro and cons of these Please, I buying a new truck this week. Thanks for yur input.

my old mans 1/2 ton has a turn **** and mine has a manual lever. IMO you cant go wrong with the lever, when you engage it you KNOW it is in 4WD. with the **** or electronic transfer case stupid things can happen like flashing lights and what not and waiting for it to engage. just my 2 cents

My $0.02, is the electronic control will work fine for most people that buy the 4 wheel drive system. I have had this feature on my last three 4WD trucks with no issues. My last manual transfer case shift 4WD, was on a 1974 full size Jeep 6cyl, 4spd manual trans with a manual transfer case shifter.
I believe that a lot of dealers order the electronic control when they order the auto transmission. This comes in a package deal from the manufactures, they put togther a trim and equipment packages and offer them at a lower price to the customers when bundled as a package.
