4" vs 5" question

I'm getting ready to put some stacks on my truck. I have 5" straight pipe on it now, and I want to leave the whole system 5" (including stacks). I was just curious what the sound difference would be with 4" inch stacks vs 5" stacks, if any? I'm definitely leaning towards 5" stacks cuz I'm afraid 4" would look a little to puny.

Go 6" stacks. Even 5" looks like a pair of soda straws. The smaller the exhaust the raspier it is...get up to 5,6,7 inch pipe and it gets deep and mellow but still loud when you give it some fuel.

Opinion. I like a 5". 6" looks too big to me.

I do like the idea of the exact same pipe from turbo outlet to stack tip. Looking forward to having a turbo with a 5" outlet so I can do that. With the 4" downpipe I have now, I will expand to 5" before the stack. 4" does look puny as a stack, ok as a tailpipe.

believe go 6 it isnt that big? are you going with a single or dual setup, i have a single 6" bullhauler pointing straight back. sounds goo from the outside and a nice tone inside. but on my 110 mile comute to work it does not bother me at all. mine goes from 4-5-6. i have 4' of 5" flex pipe which makes it a little deeper tone. specially if you get a turbo with a 5"outlet you dont want a small 5" stack.

I had a 6" stack, and it was about the perfect size. I took it off in favor of a Full 4" straight exhaust to 6" tip.

I'm going with a dual setup. I'm going to begin with stacks coming up from the bottom of the bed, see how it looks, but eventually I'm wanting to at least try setting the stacks up so they come out to the side then go straight up over the bed rail (sort of like a dump truck stack, the kind that step out to clear the top of the dump box.) That way its not hangin out past the side of the truck but is a little bit stepped out from behind the cab (something a tad different ya know.)

I've still got the 4" out of the turbo, but it opens up to 5" about a foot downstream. You say the 4" of flex pipe gave you a deeper tone? If so I'll have to git some because I wish mine were a little deeper sounding.

Thanks for all the advise! I hadn't really considered 6" but maybe I aughta take a gander at them.
