4" exhaust
I got the MBRP 4" aluminized turbo back today and installed it. The install went smoothly but I can't keep/get the downpipe from just contacting the foiled insulator sheet to the left on the firewall. When cinched up this is where the pipe wants to be and I can't rotate it at all when loose. I don't want to catch anything on fire. Anybody have a similar problem with this set-up? Solution? Thanks, Kurt

Maybe your insulator is sagging. Other than that, the only thing I can think of is to loosen the bolts and keep the downpipe somehow propped down (wood or something), then re-tighten the bolts. Could just be a manufacture defect. Good luck!

I had a 97 and had the same problem with the mbrp downpipe touching the firewall insulation. The insulation wasnt sagged. I moved the downpipe around but I couldnt find a position that it didnt touch.

I bet its a manufacturer's defect. They have various exhaust places selling to MBRP and it could be that their Jig was a little off... Call MBRP and tell them whats going on.
