SMKHZRD,

Welcome and I invite you to ask questions, but I do ask that you also use the search features to research the items you are interested in.

The big things you need to know are:

CP3 - High pressure injection pump
LP - Lift Pump

Do you have the 04 or the 04.5....IT IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE....look it up!

Smarty
BTDT
MP-8
TST PMCR

Are all modules that will help you with power....choose wisely..(Smarty/MP-8/TST stacked....)

Search for Stacking Modules, this is how you will add multipliers for power enhancement.

Good luck!

Stacking boxes is pretty crazy i heard. I just have the edge juice with attitude. It has it own little pod which allows you to ajust your power on demand. It also shows you your Egt, eng temp, boost, load.
although there are newer better boxes out there i will probably kept it and maybe try add a smarty. From what i being through and being told, you got keep in mind what you wanna do with your truck. Some guys just want to make a whole lot of power and go draging or sled pulling.
you should check my thread, as i have already done the basics for tuning my truck and i am know trying to figure out how far i want to go with it. Ex) twins turbos or just single turbo upgrade.
All these upgrades change your truck and you must choose the best upgrades for your purpose. I want my truck as daily driver that can do everything from playing, to towing, to long distance road trips, driving it for work.
The one problem i am having is that there is a lot info out there but trying to decide what is right for me with out endangering the relibility of my truck

Depending on if your future truck is an 04 or 04.5 will dictate stock boost levels. If I remember correct the 04's is around 28psi and the 04.5's is around 32. I run about 36lbs out of my Phat Shaft 62 on my truck with no issues at all. Lots of guys are running in the 40psi range with no problems. Although I would not advise running that out of the stocker.
As for temps. my buddy spikes his truck at the track to 1600 with no complications. I use 1350 as my "redline" (but I wouldnt hang there for an extended perod of time) but if I exceed that for a second Im not too worried. These 3rd Gens run a bit hotter than what you're used to in the 1st Gen'r.
Transmissions in these trucks seems to be all over. Some claim that they have been running 100HP for a while on a stock trans with no problems. I injured my trans severely on a TST on level 4x2 which is 80HP higher than stock in about a month's time. And yes I do have self control. Some guys smoke these transmissions like the internals are made of paper and others just don't quit. Id be nice to your trans and not go over 50HP until mods are done . At least a converter and valve body. Any other questions post them up!
