3K gsk

When I get back to the states I am putting in a new p-pump so I was wondering if it would be easier to install the gsk before I put the pump in or should I just wait until I get the pump on the truck?

The most finnicky thing when I installed mine was getting the plug back in the side of the pump. I vote for doing it off the truck.

I've got to get a GSK, I've heard it makes your truck way more driveable.

It won't make as big of a difference on a 215 pump, but is still quite noticable.

FWIW if I had it to do over, I would get a 4k, I have been told they fuel harder at low RPM.

IMO if your not out trying to fuel hard past 3k I would not recommend the 4k springs. I have not been happy with the idle characteristics of the 4k springs. Mine flutter badly when cold and I just cant tune it out. PDR says its normal but I didnt have it before I put the little springs in.

I wouldnt go back to a 3k. I have harder pull all the way through the RPM's with the 4k over the 3k, and my idle and low rpm characteristics are the same as it was with the 3k. I have the little 160 pump though.

Hummm...
I wonder if the difference is in the springs or the pump?

Well, I ordered the 3k from TST, and then not long ago I ordered the small springs to upgrade to a 4k from piers, but I would imagine everyone uses the same springs. I think the pump might have a lot to do with it. I know some 215's are really touchy with a 4k, where mine isnt too bad, but it could also be they had them adjusted too tight. I would think it should idle smooth either way.

I don't think they are to tight because if I go 1 click looser the flutter gets worse and if I go 1 click tighter the return to idle gets real lazy? It only does it until the engine warms up then its goes away? I don't know about the different manufacturers or if there is different ones for this application however I do know all springs are not created equally. Perhaps your right on the pumps making more difference than the springs.
