3GSK problems
so i had the 3gsk installed by tim alomost a year ago, he put a new tranny in for me back in july, ever since then the truck will only pull to 2700 rpms before the tranny swap it would pull all the way to 3000 rpm's, so what can i do to turn it back up? another ? is i'm thinkin bout doin the hd valve springs and goin up to 4gsk does anyone know where i can find just the springs to add into the 3gsk or do i have to buy the entire kit again? thanks

It would likely be due to the shift points. Talk to your tranny guy about moving those up. If you switch to a 4k, and it is your tranny holding you back, you won't see much change.

Well, if the tranny always shifts at 2700 rpm, you're not gonna get passed that unless you are manually holding it in that gear. Is that what you're doing?

about the 4k spring when I bought mine from Source here in portland I was going to just get a 3k .But I saw them removing a spring from the kit and ask about it they only have the 4k and just remove the one spring set for the 3k kits. You could call them or check with a shop closer to you. I put in the 4k set up and it really will not go past 3500 unless you hold it there for a long time that is probably due to my timing and fuel delivery also.
So if you put it 1st gear manually you are saying it will not rev past 2700.If that is correct you and you have good power up to that point I would think it is the springs but it could be fuel also might want to check fuel pressure or fuel filter. Will it free rev to 3k? if so it is could be a fuel problem

when he installed the trans did he put a tighter converter in ? try and manually hold it in gear and see if it will rev past 2700 . it could be the gov springs are to tight also 1 click on the springs can make a big differance
