37s with 2in. lift what do ya think?

ok i am still wanting to lift my truck. i passed on a used 5in kit cause it was for a gasser. so now i am just gonna put 2 or 3 inches on it for now. my buddy has a set of 37x13.5x16 pro comp xterains i can get pretty cheap. does anyone have this setup? i know i will prob have to trim. i saw a guy on here with 39s and 2inches and that thing looked awsome but he did alot of trimming. and my buddy is running 38.5 stock on a 3500 and he did alot of trimming..i am just wandering how much i am gonna have to trim if any. I DO NOT WHEEL THE TRUCK..it is strictly a street truck..

Me personally I wouldn't do it......it's just not worth hacking up your truck to get bigger tires on there. My personal preference is to sit above the tires a little bit........gives a nice look and doesn't look like you stuffed the snot out of them. JMHO

I had a bud try to fit a set of 38" Super swampers on a stock 2500 with the back end jacked up and it still wouldnt fit. I would say 4 or 5 in lift is what you will have to get. I have a 5" and you can see how 35's fit. i am thoug going to switch to 38 when these wear out. Trimming is a bad option unless it is a trail rig. What if you have to sell the truck or have to go back to stock suspension, then your screwed. Lifts are cheap I say save up for a while and then go for a good lift

I'd be worried about the unit bearing hubs with a tire that big. Not doing any off roading will help them live but that is a lot of weight and leverage working against them.

Just my .02!

I know of a guy running 38 swampers with just a 3 inch body lift and triming the fenders.

Lift it at least 5 inches. Say no to stuffing.
