believe those motors are 8.2 motors. should be set around the torque we have. have a customer with one looked just like a 5.9 from the top till i climbed inside the engine compartment and looked at the tag. shoulda looked at the hp while i was there

When had an 8.3 in a frieghtliner flatbed, it was a 94 i think and the power rating on the motor was 275 and i think 725. It was 7 something on the lower side. Ran great till you hit a hill and then it was kinda slow.

Depends on whether it is a B or C series Cummins. The B's will only be 600-610, the ISC's are in the 800-1000 range.

2007 ISC had a 300hp rating with 860lb-ft@1300RPM and a 330hp rating with 1000lb-ft@1400RPM.

My 8.3 C @285 hp=800 lbs/ft. Not near enough for a truck in my opinion. Ours is also the new emissions engine and they tell me that they are slightly less powerful as well. Had a new turbo installed last month, something was sticking ( actuator) if that is the spelling.

The 275hp 8.3 in my TerraGator has more than enough to move itself down the road at 45mph at 40,000lbs turning 6' tall tires. Not to mention that when I'm in the field with a full load I can pull 26mph, But my god will that thing smoke like a superstock puller:cool:.

I don't know why anyone told you that the new emissions engines are slightly less powerful. Every engine rating has to be certified in the exact same way with a +-5% of the advertised torque curve. I can believe that you had a stuck actuator though. Let me know if you have any questions about it.
