Local dealer is doing 30% off sticker on Megacabs. I read about other states doing 40% off..anyone hear of that? If so, let me know where/what dealer/etc (via PM if violating forum rules) so I have a better hand with haggling. Thanks everyone.

check out the Houston dealers.

Tomball Dodge
Spring Dodge

I have heard ads lately of being that much off many trucks. Not sure if that includes megas or not.

thanks,

Jay

Get a Sunday issue of the Dallas Morning News newspaper. Several around here are doing >40% off. Not sure about megas, but why wouldn't they if it's got a diesel.

I just called Spring Dodge and they are offering 45% off base price on heavy duty and diesel trucks, just so you know.

Be sure and read the "fine print" so to speak. It would seem to me there has to be a "gotcha" in order to get 45% off MSRP, such as you must use their financing and the rate will be high, etc etc. I don't know for sure, just my 2 cents because in my experience, if something seems to good to be true, it usually is.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

No, it's legit. I almost walked away w/ a 6.7 yesterday. I decided the trade in value for diesel trucks (my '05) are in the tank right now. $17,000 was the highest I was offered (couple dealers including being a return customer at one). If I sell to the public. I will just break even.

Also after driving the 6.7 for about 20 miles worth of backroads and freeways. I liked my 2005 way too much. I walked from the deal.

The truck I was looking at was a 4x4 Quad SLT for $33,500.

Whoops, thanks for sharing your experience.

What was the sticker price on the truck you drove?
Did the $33,500 include TTL?

Reason I ask is because most SLT 4x4s sticker at $45K to 50K tops, so 45% off would be in the neighborhood of $25K to 27K.

Dave Smith has Megas for that price.

$33,500 was before TTL. I guess there are better deals going on at there than here. They wouldn't budge from that $33,000+ price.

I believe the window sticker was $46,000....

So far, the best is $34xxx at Spring Dodge (30 percent off) and $15k off at Mack Halik in Houston. Will be calling around Austin and Dallas tomorrow..maybe some small cities in between.

I called my local dealer and told them I was phone shopping them...they quoted me $40k but I could come in and see what they could do....even after I told them I wasn't going anywhere in person until I got a deal and was picking up a truck. Ugh...frustrating that dealers still do that...I just need a good number and I'll stop shopping.

Newspaper ads are listing 40 percent off...just need to find the dealer that actual does it. Thanks for the tips so far.........

Around here in North East Wyoming, it was $4500 off or special financing for the Heavy Duty Trucks. Otherwise the 1500's had the 30-40% off, but not the 2500 or 3500 trucks.

With it being October now, I wonder what new sales pitches are going to be.

You might try Bluebonnet Dodge in New Braunfels, that's where I bought mine, 830-606-3463 (they keep a huge inventory, or at least they used to when I was shopping)

or San Marcos Auto Outlet, 512-392-0107. They don't keep the inventory that Bluebonnet does, but maybe they are hungry?

Just looked at Dave Smith Motors specials and they have 2500 and 3500 diesels discounted from $17450-$18237, it's not quite 40% but pretty dang close.
