3" feed to dual stacks?

Any reason why using a 3" feed to the 4" stacks shouldn't at least flow better then the stocker exhaust? No real plans to bomb the truck to beyond maybe Mach 1.5 injectors next year or so. So looking for some thoughts, I know 4" would overall be better, but.....

Seeing as how Uncle Sugar kept all of my play money this year (and took some more), so I'm working on a tighter budget than i had planned on. I strongly dislike the plumbing in the bed so it all is going underneath, by fabricating my own 3" Y and feedlines to the 4" stacks and doing my own welding drops my total cost to about $175 inlcuding the stacks (48" angle cut I got for $70 each). Planning on doing all the work next week/weekend.

Any reasons this shouldn't work?

That's all I had for a long time till I went to Forest City Diesel and Keith happened to have a four inch down pipe laying around. We put that on while we were doing the clutch work.

Thanks, that's what I was figuring on as well... two 3" pipes should breath better than one, when I get around to replacing them with 4" I'll have the old ones for bend templates
