2x4 dually mileage

I guess im going to ask a common question as i cant find anything that is what im looking for

What im wondering is what do you 2x4 dually trucks get for mileage? Im just kinda shoppin around. not sure on particulars but i have a 4x4 and thought if i can get a dually that gets 20's might as well get that, actually i wouldnt mind 25 haha. i know i dream. but if my 600 4x4 gets 20 a 2nd gen 24v should pull off that dontcha think? 12vers can put in your 2 cents as well, in a form on the 12v drivetrain

I have a 99 3500 dually 2wd (4 actually) 5sp 4.10 and get 20 mpg unloaded all the time if I drive at 60 -65 mph and use cruise where possible. I get 16 pulling 8 to 9000 equipment trailer occasionally. 19 stop and go if I take it easy.

I also have a 99 dually auto. I usually get 18.5-19.0 (unloaded) in town and on a couple of 3 hr. trips I did see it on 23.4 (unloaded)!!!!! I always fill up when I get fuel and reset the MPG meter. I don't know if that is the way you are supposed to do it but that is what I have been told. Either way it is alot better than my last gasser (15.0 MPG on a good day)!

MY 98.5 got 19.2 this past tank, thats with about 60% highway. The best I've gotten was around 22 all highway. 17 all highway with a enclosed trailer about 5000# loaded all highway.

I'm getting around 16-17 mpg in city driving, probably 18-20 mpg on the highway. It's hard to get that on the highway, I gotta keep it at or below 2,000 rpm's, or about 60-65 mph. I just got flatbed installed on my truck, so I'm curious as to how that is going to affect my fuel economy.

I get 19 on the highway and about 14 in town. This is actual calculated mileage from the pump. My over head says 21 highway and 16 city it is a little off. I drove to Arkansas (summer) 450 miles from me and thats where I got my 19 best unloaded (60 mph). I have got lower in the city too but it averages about 14 in a months worth of driving (30-45 mph). It is better overall than my 99 jeep grand cherokee which gets 20 highway 12-13 city (L6).

Topped off my tank last night, 15 gallons, 283 miles.
Commuting combination highway, (55 - 60 mph) and in town.
18.86 MPG.
Comp on 3 X 5, easing into the throttle on take off, and trying to keep the rpm below 2000 and the boost below 10.

"Normal" driving with my lead foot used to result in 14 - 15 MPG for the same trips.

My overhead console readout shows 19.7 mpg so it's a little off.

Depends on the speed I travel. My best mileage while running close to the speed limit is 18.5-19 at 68mph. If I slow down to 64 mph it goes up to 19.5-20 mpg. Truck has 149k on it.

Still on original vp44. Use fuel additive with each fill up along with a little oil.
