2nd Gen Top Speed
After looking at the 3rd gen performance forum on top speed and my god given obsession with speed, I couldn't help but wonder what some of the 2nd gen trucks are topping out at nowadays. Feel free to post what you have actually done on the road (no "i heard someone did this" or "the dyno said" numbers) have fun!

In addition post your name address and telephone number, then time and location of your land speed record so any MD State Poice reading this is able to send your your certification/citation as proof...of your stupidity.

I was in one once where we were on a long stretch of straight road... we got to 110 or so. It was more like a run up to speed to see what it would do. That was the first and last time. We were thinking of the tires.
It was not fun... although it is fun sometimes to hang out with people who are the cops.

I had my 97 dually up to 120 and it was climbing slow. That was with a hx40 and problably 1800 degrees on the pyro. Kicked the ars off of a gas truck. I've been wanting to see what my 01 will run but I'm completely out of points on my drivers license!

... you can not get in trouble for speeding unless you are caught in the act, this forum is merely heresay. Your legal name does not even have to be listed on this site to be a member, so how are the police supposed to track someone that may not even exist and trust me, they have way better things to do than get online and issue a citation that would never stand up in court. From personal expierence, they cant even issue a citation if you tell them in person. A cop pulled me over for my license plate not being "completely visible" and he asked me how fast i have gone on my bike. I was honest and told him over 170mph and what happened? He said cool, and I went on my way! who's the now?

My apoligies rad. The post on the 3rd gen forum got me wondering (not trying to throw them under the bus at all) and the first response saying people that post will be issued a citation kind of ticked me off and maybe I overreacted a little but with all the links to videos of burnouts, speeding, and illegal street racing, then someone calls me stupid for typing about it???? Im not trying to get videos banned from the site in any way, it is water under the bridge. I will take accountability for any wrong doing when I am judged by the state or the man upstairs. In my opinion, people that know their limits are better drivers in emergency situations than a driver that does not know his/her limits for this simple reason, If you dont know your/ your vehicle's limits, you wont know when to stop pushing the limit in an emergency (being cut off, ice, accident in front of you, obstacle in the road, etc.)
I do not reccommend nor condone pushing the limit when other peoples' lives are are at risk. No one should have to pay for your misjudgement but yourself (accountability). I do not push limits with people on my bike or in my truck, i dont want that on my conscience. I learn my limits by myself and don't run past 75-80% when someone is with me. Dragging knees on a backroad or cracking into it on a non traffic congested road happens from time to time. We have all done it and I ain't scared to talk about it. There are people with "no-fear" stickers and there are people with no fear.

114 mph here..... Pulls like a freight train til 114 then smacks the speed limiter. As for safety, my truck drives good and I keep good tires/brakes so its not uncommon at all for me to pin the ears back on my ole ride and cruise @ 90+mph although cruise only sets to 85mph....Oh and I have little respect for authority so I dont really care what the cops say. Some typical harassment from a little man with a gun and a badge and a $250 ticket is bout all they can do about it as long as I stay within 25mph of posted speed limit....nothing that really teaches me a lesson.
