2nd gen love

so im a first gen guy and i posted a poll about all the generations of cummins trucks in the first gen forum but people say its biased, so here i am! IF money was NO OBJECT and you could have any generation truck BRAND NEW... which would it be? 1st gen? 2nd gen? 3rd? i mean brand new like it just rolled off the factory floor. i would pick a brand new first gen over anything else. so what about you?

There's just something about the 2nd gen 4x4's with the stocker Michelins that suits my eye.

Not only do I love the look of the second gen trucks, but they were available briefly with a 12 valve, which makes for the perfect truck in my eyes. While I've never owned a first gen, I have owned a 3rd gen; and while I did enjoy the creature comforts it provided, I still went back to a second gen as I like it a lot better.

of course it's biased! I can almost guarantee whatever forum you post in will be the generation that wins out! When it comes to enthusiast sites like this typically people own the truck they want, or have come to like it more than others because it's what THEY have, hence they will typically like it more than anything else (or at least say so to make themselves feel better about what they do own ).

While I love my 2nd gen if the offer was on the table for a brand new truck at my current monthly payment (goose egg!) I'd take an equally loaded 3rd gen probably. Would be a tough decision because I really like the 2nd gens style (always have), and I'd have to see the two trucks side by side, but I'd probably still go with the 3rd gen.

I like 3rd gen looks (outside) other than that I'll take 2nd gen with better interior style (dash particularly) and they're just a fine looking trucks in general

I'm picking 2nd gen, BUT if I get to build it the way I want, I'll take a 2002 (like the dash & interior) Sport Black, no stickers, with black interior. Put a 12 valve in it, NV5600, 4X4, and make it a true 4 door crew cab like the 3rd gens, maybe even a mega. Now THAT would be a truck for me!

, minus the 12v and megacab you just described my truck to a T ... I'm happy with the 24v, though I'm not really looking to do anything crazy with it.

Give me a 3rd Gen with a 12 valve, oh yeah, I just love the sound of my 12 valve when I hammer on it, sounds like war.
