2nd gen "INTAKE" manifold

I have a 2nd gen intake manifold and was wondering if anyone has any pics of there swap? I know some have it done and I have one and wann put it on but it looks like the angle on the 2nd gen intake is off and looks like the intake tube might not line up. Or am I just lookin at it wrong....

Good deal!

Only thing holding me up is too much work, havent had time to swing by Cummins and pick up the $8 gasket so I can swap it out

It's a very easy swap. Yes the angle is a bit different but it hooks together just fine. My stock gasket was very stuck to the grid heater so it took me about 20 minutes to scrape it all off. Luckily my intake came with the gasket also. Just make sure you have the longer bolts needed for the 2nd gen unit...

The 2nd gen manifold has a better "design" and flows more air than the common rail one does. Relatively cheaper options than the $180+ for an aftermarket horn. Excellent option if you do not need auxiliary ports for spraying.

What years manifold are you guys putting on? Or is it any 2nd gen?

I believe it's pretty much any 2nd gen 24 valve truck. I have not heard of anyone using one from a 12 valver. Mine came from an 01 truck...

12 valves use a twin port intake. thats why banks had that twin ram. it needs to be of a 24 valve 2nd gen.

Oh yeah...

Those 12v's have that stealth bomber lookin' intake manifold!

That probably would cause some fitment issues.

My buddies is a 24v...perfect!

Anyone happen to have the Cummins part number for gaskets and the 2 longer bolts? I've got a 2G intake sitting on the shelf
