2nd gen aftermarket rims ?
Once again I humbly come to the Oracles of Dieseldom for their wisdom and guidance.
My ? is... if I buy a set of 17 inch aftermarket aluminum rims off a 2nd gen (9/16ths studs) and my studs are stock(1/2 inch), should I even consider puttin them on my truck before installing the 9/16ths studs. I do no towing, just once or twice a week around town.
Thanks in advance.

You should be fine, i have after market Outlaw 2 wheels on my 1st gen (1/2" studs) and currently they are on my 99 2500 (9/16" studs), you may want to check back spacing on the 2nd gen wheels, the MB Tuning 16x8 wheels that are normally on my 2nd gen won't fit on the front of my 1st gen do to clearance issues with the brake caliper caused by the more back spacing.

Unless those after-market wheels have a negative offset - stick out too far for a 2nd gen, I've seen them on the road - they may look a little odd being too far inboard on your first gen. You could get some spacers - look for a thread by schamran on installing 3rd gen wheels.

I will have to figure out that pic thing sometime soon Brandon. Apparently I need some software to de-pixel my pics
It rubs at 360 degrees from straight ahead both ways

I may have the pic thing working now.
The rub is at the back of the front wheelwell. Maybe if my front springs actually had an arch these tires might clear
The offset seems to be ok

get your front springs re-arched, cost me $100 to do the rears on my 2nd gen 1 ton, be careful and check your wheels for loosening, I traded off a 91 years ago and the local dodge dealers son was driving it to school, right front fell off going down the street
