2nd gear starts????
any ideas as to what would cause a 2nd gear start only after a long drive on the hwy. appx 10-15 min. then when i get stopped at a light i get a 2nd gear start.???????what gives but if i stay around town no problem at all.seems like once i go from hwy down into town i get a 2nd gear start at the first stop i come to. I have the pressure set at 85 at idle in dr. measured at the center port on the trans. which is what was recommended buy the shop i bought it from.if i turn the truck off and restart while at the light ,no problem, or if i shift it into park when i am at a light this will also sometimes stop it from happening.I checked the 2nd gear band and reset it to the 2 1/4 turns from 72in pd tq and it is still doing it.I do have the resister installed also on the wire at the ecm.for the past 2 weeks i have been dropping the pan like every other night to adj the pressures but if i back down on the main line pressure a bit more it slipps the tc like mad.I do know i need a new tc. I am waiting for the $$ in a few weeks to get one from goerend.a triple disk for sure so my pressures wont be so critical. but for now i need some advice as to how to stop this from happening.I think there is something i am missing while i am adj or something ????????????

I used to have that same problem in my stock tranny and it only happened after a very long hard pull and would only do it from the first stop after the pull. I wish I could tell you what fixed it but I dont know, since the rebuild its gone. Did it since new and I had it at the dealer a couple times but they never seemed to renact it. I kind of feel its got somthing to do with the VB but Im no expert. I was able to manually shift it into low and it would go so I just made a habbit of doing that. Good luck and hope you figure it out
