when i go past 2k rpm in 1,2,3,4, gear there is a click click click until 2.5k rpm or so.... is it mycp3???? dosent do it in 5 or 6 gear or the wind noise is to loud to hear... it sounds like a exhaust leak on a big block gasser. oh it seems to do it at idle when first started in the morning also, been doing it for as long as i can remember, no codes or difference in performance.

My 2004.5 truck has the same symptoms. Power seems fine...just an annoying exhaust manfold leak sound. Really noticable when lugging the engine. I am not seeing any black soot on the manifold or exhaust system.

Ideas?

Mine does this too - but it does it at lower rpms than 2000. Usually, it's there when at cruising speed (no load on the engine). It's pretty faint but certainly there and quite annoying. I think it's an injector starting to fail. So far, it hasn't affected performance at all. I think my 3mi commute to work is killing this truck.

Stopped by an exhaust shop today and they said my exhaust manifold gasket closest to the firewall is blown out. I squirted some soapy water on it with the engine running and sure enough I see bubbles.
