how much of a rear spacer would I have to run to get these on the rear of my dually? dont think the front will have a problem but i want to be sure for the rear. thanks alot

i've been looking into some taller tires, but keep hearing that running a spacer isn't smart when towing, so duallys are limited if ur gonna tow with it. Hopefully i'm wrong because I want taller tires to gear my truck more like 3.55's but nobody seems to have much info on this topic.

yea i have been looking into the same thing. but you really cant find a much taller tire than the stockers. i also want the taller tire for the gearing help. this would drop the RPM's at highway speeds and keep it more under the 2k RPM range better.

the only tire I found with a 35x10.50 was Super Swapper SSR-41R, lol. They have a pretty high load rating, it's actually more than most E rated tires, but i'm worried they would wear pretty fast. u could run those without a spacer or anything. and run wider tires up front.

yea i have always seen people with swampers wear them out pretty quick.


and those suckers can get expensive really quick. i have been looking into alot of the Cooper Tires. they seem to have a good selection of 17" tires and quit a few options for tread design

I just took a set of 285 70R17 BFG AT's off my truck to put on some Rickson's. It took a 1/4 inch spacer in the back for the tires not to rub. Ran the truck with a 3500 pound slide in camper and no rubbing. If your just towing I don't see a safety issue with a small spacer.

That rickson website has a calculator to do gearing, and with 33's on my truck it would be like having 3.64 gears. With 35's it would be like having 3.43 gears.

thats should help drop the rpm when cruising down the highway and help the mileage out some.......or at least let you go a little faster and retain the same mileage since you can go faster with less rpm

Rickson makes 19.5'' wheels for light trucks. Usually 19.5's are only for medium duty trucks like a 5 ton. I have 245 70G19.5 tires on my truck now, there 33.5'' tall, 14 ply and theres plenty of room to go with taller tires in the future with no rubbing/spacer issues.

but how much are the 19.5" wheels and tires?


If I can find some 265/85/16 that would equate to 33's, with 10.4 width so they wouldn't rub on the duallys even without spacers if i'm correct.
