Well crew, I ordered a set of 255/85/16 BFG MTs today, should be in Wednesday or Thursday. I hope they wear better than the Firestones I have on now. I know for the price I will not be burning these off like I did the Firestones!! If anyone has run them in this size before please advise on how they wore. I will be rotating most every oil change, I hope. I run 50lbs in the front and 45 in the rear now, what should I run in the new ones? Thanks for any and all advice.

I run a set of those during the winter. I had them siped and then I drilled holes and studded them. They are great tires. They have about 30k miles and have about 30% tread left. They will make it one more year. I am putting them on my wifes truck this winter. You wont be disappointed.

Where are you guys getting these tires siped? At a chain of some sort?

Guess you have to be north of Kansas City to get that done; every time I ask about it at a tire shop they look at me like I have two heads or I'm speaking Martian or something.

My last three sets have all been BFG MT's. I'm getting just shy of 50K out of them! They're 285's and I have them at about 60psi. Keep them rotated and balanced and you will be fine. I think the last set cost me about $772 mounted and balanced. The top half of the tread will feel very soft, but don't worry the compound is much harder as they wear a little.

Funny you ask this now because I just put a call in for my tire dude to get me some of the new Toyo MT's. I just want to try them out. My dad claims he is getting 70K+ out of his Toyo AT's and even if I gain another 10K over the BFG's I would be happy.

Like I said we'll get in touch once I get all my ducks in a row and we'll go for a ride.

I priced the Toyo M55s at $220 per, and about wrecked our Yukon! That is why they tell you to not talk on phone and drive at same time!! I am sure they are a good tire, but at $900+ by the time they are on the truck, that is out of my ballpark, especially when laid off. Good luck with the Toyos.

They are on as of this morning, and man do they look awesome! Makes me want to find a big ole mudhole and play, but truck is way to expensive to do that with. Hoping to get some good miles out of them, and will rotate at every oil change. Man am I happy!!

I had a set of Yokohama Geolander MT's on mine last year. STAY FAR AWAY AND BE VERY AFRAID! . $800.+ FOR THE SET AND THEY LASTED ONE YEAR! Great traction but sooooo soft they wore way to fast. My pick is Goodyear Wrangler MTR. Havent been stuck yet, even pulled out the buried snow plow. Yanked my exploder a quarter mile through 2 and a half feet of snow to the drive way and nary a wheel spun!!! AWESOME.

They're great tires. I'm on my second set of 285's. I got about forty thousand outof mine and they were almost worn out. They're a great mud and snow tire. As stated before, the first ten thousand miles will go so fast, you 'll think you really messed up. After that, they wore pretty good. I had to give 800+ for mine.

I run 42 in front and 30 in the back on the factory 16x6 rims

Have 15K+ on them and they have a good bit better than half tread left.
