24v P Pump conversion question

I have all of the parts located from suppliers and a donor truck/engine (94 auto). I am going to use the cam sensor to make the pcm happy but one topic I haven't seen anyone discuss yet is cruise control. I am doing the conversion on an 01 manual truck and I do have the tps and wiring from the donor truck - I'm guessing the tps signal (either from the 01 sensor or the 12v sensor) will be a necessary circuit to keep to eliminate fault codes and allow the cruise to work??? What is normally done with the electrical connector for the vp44 injection pump???

Because if u plan and making big power those pump sent quite enough because there only 160 horse power pump the 96 through 98 p pumps are 215 horse power and the best they have unless u go to schields and get one of there pumps

The "94" p pump is far from stock - I'm a tractor puller and the only thing 94 about this pump is its appearance. The 94 ran great until it hit some black ice last winter and did a barrel roll.

160 pumps are just as capable as 215 pumps. Might want to look up Brad Ponci and his truck.

I'm sure Jeff Garmon is running the 180 pump in his 1/2 ton race truck. Makes some insane power too.

Yeah, if you're gonna spend some money and have the pump bench tuned and whatnot, the 'holy grail' 215 pump is actually not all that desireable, due to the timing retard after about 18mm of rack travel. From a custom build standpoint, any pump is a good starting point.

You'll have fault codes for other reasons and a constant CEL if you don't kill the bulb...

I'm not sure you can get the cruise to work unless you currently have vacuum controlled cruise on your conversion truck...

nothing wrong with the 160/175 pump... perhaps not ideal for sled pulling due to the cam profile but Brad Ponci has no problems spinning up ~650rwhp and running exceedingly fast in the 1360 with a 160 pump that's "never been off the truck"....

I have a 160 pump that I am going to use in my p-pump conversion. I sent it off and it came back with 450cc's of fuel. I think that it will be a good starting point.

the best way to do it would be to get the engine/trans wiring harness and the pcm off of a 98-98.5 12v, everything will plug in and work correctly including criuse, with out any special sensors needed

You'd need a 12v engine speed sensor, as well as the damper for that to work. Seems easier to me to just unplug the VP, APPS and the CEL. Cruise works on most trucks. Mine doesn't, but it didn't work before the conversion either.
