My uncle works for a very reputable Bosch pump builder/supplier/dealer and recommended the 245 as that is the standard replacement....which I will be installing in the next week or two. If I were you, I'd buy new.

Your motor then is a 215 hp.
The 235 hp injection pump is for 2001 and 2002 auto. The 245 hp is for a ho motor.

SO truck use the the 027 (235hp) pump and HO trucks use the 028 (245hp) pump.

The SO pump will put out more fuel if you're going for horsepower. The HO pump will probably give an SO truck better fuel mileage but lower overall horsepower.

Your HP is listed on the engine ID plate at the front, top, drivers side. It has your serial #, build code and other good info. Your hp rating is on it also.

I don't see why the HO Pump would be a standard replacement pump. His truck is an SO, so put an SO on it. Sure he might notice a little more oomph down low with a HO Pump. But once you start adding go fast goodies, the SO Pump out fuels the HO Pump.

^^^^software issues you can go from an HO to a SO without having the ecm flashed but not vice versa.

I know a couple of people who have put an HO pump on a SO engine without issue. What ill effects have you seen with regards to the software issue you talk about?

Id stick with the SO (235)..
As I just learned the other day, The SO will cover down low AND up top while the HO will only take you so far power mod wise.
